Oxymax COS41
Membrane-Covered Amperometric Dissolved Oxygen Sensor with Long-Term Stability
Applications
The Oxymax COS41 is designed for dissolved oxygen measurement in:
• Clean water treatment
• Wastewater treatment plants
• Water quality monitoring (rivers, lakes, oceans)
• Aquaculture/fish farms (oxygen level control)
Key Features
✓ High measurement accuracy
✓ Extended maintenance intervals (up to 12 months)
✓ Intelligent self-monitoring function
✓ Membrane-covered measurement technology:
-
Excellent O₂ selectivity
-
Low maintenance costs
-
Simple air calibration
Measurement Principle
Dissolved oxygen molecules diffuse through the membrane to the cathode where they are reduced to hydroxide ions (OH⁻), while silver at the anode oxidizes to silver ions (Ag⁺), creating a silver bromide layer. The resulting current is proportional to oxygen concentration.
Complete Measurement System Includes:
• DO probe
• Transmitter (e.g., Liquisys M COM 223/253)
• Special measurement cable
• Mounting accessories (flow assembly COA250, submersion assembly CYA611, retractable assembly COA451)
